Mission Statement

At Tide Wind Academy Homeschool, my mission is to reclaim the heart and mind of our child by providing a sanctuary of safety, faith, and individualized growth. I reject the institutional pressure to ‘conform’ or ‘keep up,’ choosing instead to prioritize mental health and spiritual foundation over standardized timelines.

I exist to ensure our daughter is never a shadow in a system, but a light in our home—protected from the reach of bullies and the influence of outside indoctrination. Here, we do not just teach subjects; I disciple a soul, setting our own tone and moving at the rhythm of grace. Because in this home, her heart is our highest priority, and our faith is our greatest curriculum.

A Note from Big Easy Homeschooling Mom:

Hi, I am Big Easy Homeschooling Mom of Tide Wind Academy Homeschool. Like many of you, I wear every hat in this academy—Principal, Teacher, Janitor, Lunch Lady, and Counselor. But before I was any of those things, I was a Mom who was tired of watching her daughter, who was entering 6th grade, get lost in the cracks.

I was tired of the phone calls that led nowhere while she was being bullied. I was tired of a system that did not share our core values or our faith. I was tired of watching her spark go out because of depression and institutional weight.

I started Tide Wind Academy Homeschool not because I wanted to ‘play school’ at my kitchen table, but because I wanted to save my daughter’s life. I learned that we do not have to mimic a broken system to have a successful education. We can finish in 4 hours or less what public schools do in 8. We can set a tone of peace instead of panic. Most importantly, we can never be ‘behind’ when we are finally following the path God intended for our family.

If you are feeling overwhelmed today, remember: You arenot just the janitor or the lunch lady. You are the Culture Creator of a new future for your child. Stick to your mission. The rest is just paperwork.
