From Survival Mode to Tide Wind Academy Homeschool

I see you, because I was you.

I know what it is like to stand in the kitchen, staring at a daughter who has lost her spark. I know the gut-wrenching feeling of sending your child into a building where you know she is not safe—where the “system” treats bullying like a footnote and your family’s core values like an inconvenience.

Before I became the Big Easy Homeschooling Mom of Tide Wind Academy Homeschool, I was a mom in a crisis. My daughter was entering the 6th grade, but she was not excited. She was disappearing. The public school system had let her fall through the cracks, leaving her to endure bullying that shattered her mental health and fueled a deep depression. I watched her passion for learning—and her passion for life—evaporate.

I felt hopeless. I felt trapped. And then, I got fed up.

I realized that if the system wouldn’t protect her heart and her mind, I would.

Welcome to Tide Wind Academy Homeschool

I started Tide Wind Academy Homeschool as a rescue mission. I didn’t just want to teach my daughter algebra; I wanted to give her back her soul. I wanted to integrate our faith into every lesson and ensure that she was being raised with our values, not the world’s indoctrination.

Today, I wear all the hats. I am the:

• Principal who sets the vision.
• Teacher who witnesses the lightbulbs go on.
• Counselor who prioritizes her heart over her homework.
• Lunch Lady & Janitor (the glamorous side of the job!).

But most importantly, I am a mom who discovered that homeschooling is the ultimate “cheat code” for a happy family. —

Why I’m Here for You

If you hae found your way to my corner of the internet, chances are you’re looking for a way out—or a way up. You might be worried about your child “falling behind,” or feeling guilty that your home does not look like a 1950s classroom.

Here is what I believe at Tide Wind Academy Homeschool:

2. Home is NOT Public School: We don’t mimic a broken system; we build a better one.
3. Efficiency is King: W e do in 4 hours what they do in 8, leaving room for faith, family, and rest.

I am here to tell you that you can do this. You have the authority to set the tone of your home and the future of your child.
